LOWELL, Mass. - No. 7 Southern New Hampshire
University posted its sixth straight shutout with a 2-0 win over
UMass Lowell in Northeast-10 men's soccer Wednesday night.
The Penmen, who are unbeaten in their last seven games (6-0-1),
improve to 7-1-1 overall and 4-0-1 in the NE-10, while the River
Hawks, who gave the Penmen two of their three losses last season,
are now 3-3 and 2-2 in the league.
Marc Goulet
(Plainfield, Conn.) got the Penmen on the board 17 seconds before
intermission when he bent a left-to-right corner kick in to make it
1-0 at halftime. Southern New Hampshire would get its second
goal at the 59-minute mark. Jayme Kapinos
(Ludlow, Mass.) gave a hesitation move then sent a cross into
Michael Adam (Ludlow, Mass.), who tapped it home.

(Rehoboth, Mass.) posted his sixth shutout of the season by turning
aside five shots. He extended his shutout streak to 605:26 in
the victory. UMass Lowell keeper Ryan Richards made seven
saves as the Penmen outshot the River Hawks 16-11, including an
11-4 advantage in the first half. SNHU also generated a 7-2
advantage in corner kicks.
SNHU returns to action Sunday
afternoon when it travels to New Haven for a 1:00 contest.
