Volleyball Downs Hawks in NE-10 Opener, Improve to 7-0

MANCHESTER, N.H. - The Southern New Hampshire University volleyball team defeated Saint Anselm College 3-2 Wednesday night at the SNHU Fieldhouse.  The Penmen improve to a school-record 7-0 to start the season while the Hawks fall to 4-5 overall.  The game was the Northeast-10 Conference opener for both schools.

The set scores were 25-16, 22-25, 25-15, 19-25, 15-11. 

Stephanie Dluginski (Floral Park, N.Y.) led the Penmen on the evening with 19 kills and also added six blocks (two solo). Allison Murphy (Montague, Mass.) finished the match with 15 kills and eight digs, while Kim Rowe (Exeter, N.H.) also posted 11 kills.  Lauren Lorenz (Frankfort, Ill.) had a team-high 31 assists and added 10 digs defensively, while Kristin Wilson (Milton, N.H.) added 17 assists.  Caitlin Wilson (Milton, N.H.) led SNHU with 22 digs while Erica Solomon (Islip Terrace, N.Y.) finished with 14 digs.  Danielle Coffey (Westborough, Mass.) added four solo blocks.

Saint Anselm's Charlotte Tencza posted a team-high 16 kills while also posting 10 digs and Rachel Flaherty handed out 21 assists.  Kelly Rudolph led the Hawks with 17 digs on the evening.

Southern New Hampshire returns to action Saturday when it travels to Merrimack College for a 1:00 contest.
