Volleyball Takes Two at Saint Anselm

MANCHESTER, N.H. - Junior Stephanie Dluginski (Floral Park, N.Y.) totaled 24 kills and hit .487 in two matches to lead Southern New Hampshire University to a pair of volleyball victories in a tri-match held at Saint Anselm College's Stoutenburgh Gymnasium Sunday.  The Penmen recorded wins over Post (25-14, 25-17, 25-14) and the host Hawks (25-19, 25-12, 25-14) to move to 3-0 on the season.  The Eagles dropped to 0-3, while Saint Anselm is 1-1 on the season.

Southern New Hampshire opens the season 3-0 for the second time in the last three seasons.

Against Post, Dluginski finished with 11 kills in 19 attempts and registered three blocks.  Kim Rowe (Exeter, N.H.) added seven kills and four blocks (two solo) for the Penmen, while Allison Murphy (Montague, Mass.) totaled six kills.  Caitlin Wilson (Milton, N.H.) notched 17 digs while Erica Solomon (East Islip, N.Y.) added nine digs.  Lauren Lorenz (Frankfort, Ill.) handed out 27 assists.

In the nightcap, Dluginski finished with 13 kills and a .500 hitting percentage while also adding a pair of blocks.  Three others, Murphy, Solomon and Lorenz, each notched five kills.  Lorenz handed out 19 assists, while Wilson finished with 15 digs.  Solomon also recorded seven digs against the Hawks.

In Sunday's two matches, Southern New Hampshire hit a combined .320, including a .382 clip against Post.  The Penmen also held Post to a .000 hitting percentage, while the Hawks finished with 18 kills and 22 attack errors in game two.

Southern New Hampshire is now idle until Monday, September 14, when it hosts Rivier College in a 7:00 match at the SNHU Fieldhouse.
