NEW HAVEN, Conn.—The Southern New
Hampshire University volleyball team suffered its second setback of
the season, falling to Southern Connecticut State University by a
score of 3-1 on Friday evening. With the loss, the Penmen
fall to 6-2 overall and 2-1 in the Northeast-10 Conference, while
the win improves the Owls to 8-6 overall and 2-2 in NE-10
play.
Game scores were 23-25, 22-25, 25-20, and 17-25.
Stephanie
Dluginski (Floral Park, N.Y.) led the Penmen with a
career-high 21 kills, hitting at a personal-best of .581. Dluginski
moved into second place on SNHU's career kills list and now has 908
kills for her career.
Peyton
Williams (Huntington Beach, Calif) finished with nine
kills and 11 digs for Southern New Hampshire. Lauren
Lorenz (Frankfort, Ill.) dished out a game-high 31
assists on the evening.
Megan Hiss led Southern Connecticut with 13 kills and five
digs. Kimberly Lachowicz had 28 assists for the Owls, and
Lauren McVey finished with ten digs on the afternoon.
The Penmen narrowly out hit the host Owls on the evening,
hitting .252 while the Owls hit .250.
Southern New Hampshire returns to action tomorrow afternoon at
1:00 p.m. as they host the University of New Haven as part of
SNHU's Alumni Weekend festivities.
