MANCHESTER, N.H. – Danny Hernandez (Salem, N.H.) totaled two goals and an assist as ninth-ranked Southern New Hampshire University jumped out to a 2-0 lead 17:34 into the game en route to a 4-0 win over The College of Saint Rose in Northeast-10 men's soccer Saturday night at Larkin Field.  The Penmen, who won their fourth in a row, improved to 11-1-1 overall and 7-1-1 in NE-10 play, while the Golden Knights are now 1-12-1 and 0-10 in the league.

Saturday's win capped an unbeaten regular season at home for SNHU (8-0-1) and extended their unbeaten streak at Larkin Field dating back to last season to 11 games.

Michael Adam (Ludlow, Mass.) got the Penmen on the board 11:36 into the game when he dribbled down the middle and beat Saint Rose keeper Patrik Ohlsson to his right.  SNHU made it 2-0 5:58 later when Hernandez made a move in the box and played a ball to a streaking Mark Cotton (Londonderry, N.H.), who one-timed it past Ohlsson.  It marked Cotton's first collegiate goal.  The Penmen would maintain a 2-0 lead at halftime.

Hernandez would score twice in a span of 2:46 early in the second half.  At the 47:25 mark, Hernandez had an initial attempt knocked down by Ohlsson, but he would collect the rebound and put inside the right post.  In the 51st minute, Hernandez would make a move past a Saint Rose defender and beat Ohlsson for his second goal of the contest.

SNHU keeper Mark Painchaud (Concord, N.H.) made his first collegiate start Saturday and made one save en route to the shutout.  Ohlsson turned aside five shots as the Penmen outshot the Golden Knights 24-5.

Before the game, five seniors playing in their final regular season home game were honored; Adam, Cotton, Paul D'Angelo (Gloucester, Mass.), Hernandez and Nick Papamichael (Raymond, N.H.).

Southern New Hampshire plays the first of four straight road games to close out the regular season Tuesday when it travels to Bentley University for a 3:30 contest.
