WEST PALM BEACH, Fla.—The Southern New
Hampshire University volleyball team dropped both ends of a
double-header at the Pepsi Bash at the Beach Tournament hosted by
Palm Beach Atlantic University on Saturday morning. The
Penmen dropped a 3-1 decision to the host Sailfish before falling
3-0 to Flagler College. With the losses, the Penmen drop to
7-5 overall, while the wins improve Palm Beach Atlantic to 13-3 and
Flagler to 15-5.
In the first game, the Penmen won the first game 25-23 before
dropping the next three 25-12, 25-15, 25-15. Stephanie
Dluginski (Floral Park, N.Y.) totaled ten kills and two
blocks for the Penmen. Lauren Lorenz
(Frankfort, Ill.) dished out 28 assists, and Ashlee
Daoust (Brookline, N.H.) led the team with eight
digs.
Jennifer Eldridge totaled 11 kills for the Sailfish en route to
the win. Jessica Way added a game-high 40 assists to Palm
Beach Atlantic's offense, while Allie Warren finished the
match with a game-high 16 digs.
In game two, Dluginski again led the Penmen with six
kills. Lorenz dished out 16 assists for Southern New
Hampshire, and Peyton Williams (Huntington Beach,
Calif.) posted a team-high 11 digs.
Rachel Stacy and Dianna Craine each posted seven kills for
Flagler. Rebecca Royal had a game-high 17 assists for
Flagler. Game scores were 25-12, 25-16, 25-11.
Southern New Hampshire returns to action tomorrow, facing Barry
University at 1:00 p.m. to conclude the weekend in
Florida.
