BOX SCORE

MANCHESTER, N.H. - Randall Stallworth and Ivan Almeida each scored 10 points to lead No. 22 Stonehill College to a 52-40 Northeast-10 men's basketball victory over Southern New Hampshire University at the SNHU Fieldhouse Saturday.  The Skyhawks, who clinched the NE-10 regular season title with the win coupled with Bentley's 72-70 loss to Franklin Pierce, are now 22-4 overall and 19-2 in the league, while the Penmen are 14-12 and 9-12 in NE-10 play.

Daniel Heppert added nine points and seven rebounds for the Skyhawks, who won their seventh in a row.

Corey Boland (Union, N.J.) led Southern New Hampshire with 11 points and six rebounds, while Josh Morgan-Green (Upper Marlboro, Md.) totaled seven points.

Stonehill never trailed and built a 19-8 lead 6:21 before halftime on a pair of Almeida free throws.  The Penmen scored seven straight, and a basket by Hanell Velez (Woburn, Mass.) made it 19-15 with 3:33 left in the frame.  The Skyhawks would take a 25-21 lead into the locker room.

The Penmen would make it 25-23 early in the second half on a basket by Tory Stapleton (Rahway, N.J.), but Stonehill scored eight in a row and a layup by Heppert with 15:16 left made it 33-23.  The Skyhawks opened up a 44-28 lead on a Brian Hamor three-pointer with 8:07 left, as Stonehill held the Penmen scoreless for a stretch of 6:42.  The guests would maintain at least an 11-point cushion the rest of the way.

Neither team shot the ball well, as Stonehill shot 34.8% while the Penmen were at 27.3%.  The Skyhawks did knock down six of their three-point attempts, while SNHU was 1-14 behind the arc.  The guests were 14-24 at the free throw line while SNHU was 9-11, and Stonehill owned a 43-33 rebounding advantage.

Southern New Hampshire closes out the regular season Wednesday night when it travels to Merrimack for a 7:30 contest.
