WORCESTER, Mass.—The Southern New
Hampshire University women's volleyball team posted a 3-1 victory
over the Greyhounds of Assumption College on Thursday evening at
Laska Gymnasium. With the win, the Penmen better their record
to 4-1 overall, while the loss drops the Greyhounds to 6-8 on the
season.
The Penmen dropped the first game by a score of 20-25, then
rallied to win three straight by scores of 25-22, 25-12, and
25-22.
Ashlee
Daoust (Brookline, N.H.) led the Penmen with 11 kills
and nine digs. Stephanie
Dluginski (Floral Park, N.Y.) added 12 kills, and
Peyton
Williams (Huntington Beach, Calif.) added eight kills
and nine digs to the Penmen effort. Lauren
Lorenz (Frankfort, Ill.) dished out a game-high 31
assists while also adding seven digs, and Erica
Solomon (Islip Terrace, N.Y.) matched her
season-high of 20 digs.
Lauren Ostafin led Assumption with 11 kills and ten digs.
Steph Wooten also had ten digs for the Greyhounds, and Jess Reimers
dished out 16 assists.
The Penmen finished the game with a hitting percentage of .214
while holding the Greyhounds to .131.
Southern New Hampshire opens Northeast-10 Conference play on
Wednesday, September 22, traveling to Saint Anselm College for a
7:30 p.m. match.
