MANCHESTER, N.H.—The Southern New
Hampshire University women's volleyball extended its streak to
three wins by posting a 3-2 victory over the visiting Franklin
Pierce University Ravens on Tuesday evening. With the win,
the Penmen improve to 6-1 overall and 2-0 in the Northeast-10
Conference, while the loss drops the Ravens to 6-4 overall and 0-3
in NE-10 action.
The Penmen rallied from an eight-point deficit at the 9-17 mark
in game one to take the 26-24 win. After winning the next
game 25-23, the Penmen dropped the third and fourth games by scores
of 23-25 and 16-25 before rallying to win the fifth game
15-12.
Stephanie
Dluginski (Floral Park, N.Y.) led Southern New
Hampshire with 13 kills and four blocks. Lauren
Lorenz (Frankfort, Ill.) finished with a team-high 37
assists and ten digs. Megan
Lesczynski (Pine Bush, N.Y.) contributed 10 kills and
17 digs on the evening, while Peyton
Williams (Huntington Beach, Calif.) added eight kills
and 11 digs. Ashlee
Daoust (Brookline, N.H.) finished with six service
aces on the evening.
Lauren Miller led Franklin Pierce with 19 kills and five service
aces. Pamela Walker had a game-high 51 assists, and Michelle
Marguette finished the evening with 15 kills and five digs.
Chelsie Kohout had a game-high 21 digs for the Ravens.
Southern New Hampshire returns to action on Friday, traveling to
Southern Connecticut State for a 7:00 p.m. match. The Penmen
host the University of New Haven at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday as part
of Southern New Hampshire's Alumni Weekend activities.
