Box Score ALBANY, N.Y. – Southern New Hampshire University extended its win streak to four games with a 3-0 blanking of The College of Saint Rose in Northeast-10 men's soccer Saturday afternoon at Sullivan Field. The Penmen improved to 7-2 and 5-2 in the Northeast-10, while the Golden Knights are now 0-9 and 0-6 in league play.
The Penmen got on the board just 2:31 into the contest when Mohamed Toufik (Grande Synthe, France) scored his fourth goal of the season. Toufik deflected a free kick taken by Miguel Carneiro (New Milford, Conn.) into the goal past Saint Rose keeper Patrik Ohlsson. Southern New Hampshire made it 2-0 1:35 before intermission when Jordan Branco (Norton, Mass.) played a ball over the top of a Golden Knight defender, collected it, and scored his second goal of the season.
Chris Pereira (Ludlow, Mass.) made it 3-0 with 11:40 remaining when he notched his first collegiate goal. Pereira took a short feed from Carneiro and flicked it into the left side of the goal.
Mark Painchaud (Concord, N.H.) went the distance in goal for Southern New Hampshire and made one save en route to his second career shutout. Ohlsson made three stops for Saint Rose, which was outshot 18-4. The guests also generated a 9-4 advantage in corner kicks.
Southern New Hampshire returns to action Wednesday night when it hosts No. 18 Post University in a 7:00 non-league contest at Larkin Field.
