Setters Outrun Volleyball 3-1

PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y.—The Southern New Hampshire University volleyball team dropped a 3-1 Northeast-10 Conference loss to the Setters of Pace University on Friday evening.  With the loss, the Penmen fall to 5-14 overall and 3-9 in NE-10 play, while the win boosts the Setters to 17-8 overall and 7-4 in league play.

Game scores were 25-15, 25-16, 22-25, and 25-17.

Danielle Coffey (Westborough, Mass.) led the Penmen with 11 kills and five blocks in the loss. Megan Lesczynski (Pine Bush, N.Y.) and Erica Solomon (Islip Terrace, N.Y.) both finished with nine kills each.  Heather Colby (North Kingstown, R.I.) posted 12 digs for the Penmen, while Kendra Mikuta (Orland Park, Ill.) dished a team-high 36 assists. 

The Setters were led by Melanie Pavels, who posted a match-high 19 kills. Kelsi Root and Nora Rugova both added nine kills apiece. Shea Hansen dished out 45 assists for Pace, while Elyse Rowland led the team in digs with 23. 

The Setters hit at .234 through four games while holding the Penmen to a hitting percentage of .151. 

Southern New Hampshire returns to action tomorrow when it travels to Adelphi University for a 12:00 p.m. matchup.
