MANCHESTER, N.H.
– In 2011-12, the Southern New Hampshire University athletic
department brings fans of the Penmen even more ways than ever to
keep up with what's going on. While the centerpiece of
SNHU athletics news will continue to be the official athletics
website, located at www.snhupenmen.com, there are a
variety of social media and other platforms with which to follow
Penmen athletics.
The newest addition to SNHU
athletics is eScores, provided by Stretch Internet and launched
this summer. eScores is a free instant
messaging service that allows you to receive scores, news and other
information from SNHU athletics. You choose what categories or
sports you're interested in and how you want to receive the
information (via e-mail, text message or both). Please note
that regular text message rates apply, check with your cellular
provider.
Twitter
SNHU was one of the first athletic
departments in the Northeast-10 Conference to utilize Twitter, and
@snhupenmen has amassed more than 500 followers since launching in
January, 2009. Scores and results, as well as other Penmen
news, is regularly Tweeted.
Facebook
The SNHU athletics Facebook page is
perhaps the department's most unique medium. In
addition to posting releases and scores, several
“Facebook-only” features are available on the page,
including “Trivia Tuesday”, where fans of the page can
answer trivia questions for prizes. Another popular feature
is “Throwback Thursday”, where old SNHU athletics
photos are posted. In addition, many other news items
and notes that don't appear anywhere else are on the Facebook
page.
YouTube
SNHU athletics will be bringing
fans even more videos in 2011-12. Videos are available
through the SNHU Athletics YouTube channel as well as on the
website. In addition to postgame interviews, highlights and
season previews, other special video features will be launching
this year, so be on the lookout.
In addition, live stats and video
will once again be available for nearly every home contest in
2011-12. As always, videocasts for home events are free of
charge.
