COLCHESTER, Vt.—The Southern New Hampshire University volleyball team dropped a 3-2 decision to Saint Michael's College on Tuesday evening in non-conference action. With the loss, the Penmen fall to 2-5 overall, while the win improves the Purple Knights to 11-3.
Game scores were 18-25, 25-16, 25-18, 18-25, 15-11.
Danielle Coffey (Westborough, Mass.) led the Penmen with 13 kills and seven blocks on the evening, while Megan Lesczynski (Pine Bush, N.Y.), Ashlee Daoust (Brookline, N.H.) and Erica Solomon (Islip Terrace, N.Y.) each finished with 10 kills apiece. Peyton Williams (Huntington Beach, Calif.) posted a match-high 24 digs, while Lesczynski added 15 digs. Emily Winters (Kingston, Ontario) led the Penmen with 26 assists, while Kendra Mikuta (Orland Park, Ill.) dished out 18.
The Purple Knights were led by Tracy Peterka, who totaled 21 kills and 11 digs. Katie Walsh added 18 kills and 14 digs for Saint Michael's, while Jess McLeod posted a match-high 54 assists. Courtney Dunne led the Purple Knights with 19 digs.
The Penmen hit at an average of .241 on the evening, but the Purple Knights posted a .277 hitting percentage to take the win.
Southern New Hampshire returns to action tomorrow when it travels to Saint Anselm College for a7:30 p.m. matchup.
