Box Score MANCHESTER, N.H.- The Southern New Hampshire volleyball team dropped a 3-2 league match to Franklin Pierce University as its eight-game win streak came to a close Tuesday night. The Penmen are now 9-5 overall and 1-1 in conference play while the Ravens are 8-10 and 2-1 in the league.
The Penmen jumped out a two game lead while defeating the Ravens by scores of 25-20 and 25-22, but Franklin Pierce would take the next three with 25-19, 25-15, and 15-6 match scores.
Emma Houlihan (Shoreham, N.Y.) totaled 15 kills in the loss while Erica Solomon (Islip Terrace, N.Y.) added 10 kills and 23 digs. Setter Catherine Cotton (Murphy, Texas) dished out a match-high 42 assists, and Kendra Mikuta (Orland Park, Ill.) added a career-best 31 digs for the Penmen.
Katie Jackson led the Ravens offense while contributing 15 kills. Defensively, Franklin Pierce was powered by Natasha Ray's 28 digs, and a match-best 32 digs from Lauren Miller. Setter Stephanie Svorinic added 34 assists for the Ravens.
The Penmen return to action Thursday, October 4 when they travel to UMass Lowell for a 7:00 p.m. Northeast-10 Conference matchup.
