Box Score EASTON, Mass. – The Southern New Hampshire volleyball team dropped a 3-1 Northeast-10 Conference match against Stonehill College Tuesday night. The Penmen are now 9-11 overall and 1-7 in the conference. Stonehill improves to 12-10 overall and 6-4 in league play.
Stonehill would beat the Penmen in the first set by a score of 25-20, but SNHU would fight back to win the second set with a score of 26-24. The Skyhawks took the next two to get the win with scores of 25-9 and 25-14.
Erica Solomon (Islip Terrace, N.Y.) posted a double-double while totaling 12 kills and 14 digs on the night. Nina McGouldrick (Richardson, Texas) added 10 kills for the Penmen, and Kendra Mikuta (Orland Park, Ill.) contributed 22 digs in the libero position. Catherine Cotton (Murphy, Texas) dished out 22 assists for Southern New Hampshire.
For the Skyhawks, Mary-Kate Cattan and Kirsten Arvidson each tallied 15 kills en rout to the win. Emily Iverson added a match-best 46 assists, and libero Erin Kelly added 19 digs for the Stonehill.
The Penmen return to action Friday, October 26 when they travel to The College of Saint Rose for a 7:00 p.m. league match.
