Box Score MANCHESTER, N.H. – The Southern New Hampshire volleyball team rallied back from an 0-2 deficit to defeat Saint Michael's College in league play by a score of 3-2. The Penmen are now 11-12 overall and 3-8 in the conference while the Purple Knights are 10-12 overall and 2-9 in league play.
The Purple Knights would jump out to an early 2-0 lead while beating the Penmen by set scores of 25-22, and 25-23. The Penmen would rally back to win the next three with scores of 25-18, 25-22, and 15-8.
Erica Solomon (Islip Terrace, N.Y.) and Nina McGouldrick (Richardson, Texas) each posted a double-double en route to the win. Solomon totaled 11 kills and 18 digs, while McGouldrick compiled 12 kills and 18 digs for the Penmen. Emma Houlihan (Shoreham, N.Y.) added 17 kills to the Penmen offense, and Kendra Mikuta (Orland Park, Ill.) contributed 36 assists along with four service aces.
Katie Walsh posted 19 kills on the night for the Purple Knights. Jess McLeod dished out 43 assists, and Courtney Dunne added 31 digs for Saint Michael's.
The Penmen return to action Friday night when they host Pace University for an 8:00 p.m. Northeast-10 Conference matchup.
