Box Score MANCHESTER, N.H. – Junior Ashley Jaskula (Palmer, Mass.) totaled two goals and an assist as Southern New Hampshire University downed Le Moyne College 3-1 in Northeast-10 women's soccer Saturday afternoon at Larkin Field. The Penmen won their fourth in a row to improve to 8-3-1 and 6-3-1 in the NE-10, while the Dolphins are now 2-5-4 and 0-5-4 in the league.
Southern New Hampshire got on the board just 1:49 into the game on a goal by Kaleigh Roberge (Manchester, N.H.). Jaskula, standing near the left end line played a ball over to Roberge making a run. Her eight-yard attempt glanced off the hands of Le Moyne keeper Tori Corsaro and in the goal for her team-leading sixth goal of the season.
Jaskula made it 2-0 in the 12th minute when she took a long through ball just to the left of center from Roberge in stride. After two touches, Jaskula shot from 12 yards and beat Corsaro to her left finding the far right side of the net. Le Moyne would halve the lead at 20:37 when Lindsay Bakal scored her second goal of the season.
The Penmen reclaimed a two-goal lead just 2:50 later when Jaskula recorded her second goal of the game and fourth of the week. Standing at the top of the box on the right side, Jaskula turned and fired a high arcing shot with her left foot that got over Corsaro. Bethi Ledoux (Westborough, Mass.) notched an assist on the play.
SNHU keeper Maggie Weldon (Manchester, N.H.) made a pair of saves in goal while Corsaro registered three stops. The Penmen outshot the Dolphins 13-7 on the afternoon and had seven of the game's nine corner kicks.
Southern New Hampshire returns to action Wednesday afternoon when it travels to Saint Michael's College for a 3:30 Northeast-10 contest.
