Doublette Lifts No. 24 Men's Soccer to 2-1 Win at Le Moyne

Box Score

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Sophomore Kenny Doublette (Greenwich, Conn.) scored with 2:16 remaining to lift No. 24 Southern New Hampshire University to a 2-1 Northeast-10 men's soccer victory at Le Moyne College Saturday afternoon.  The Penmen improved to 6-1 and 3-1 in the NE-10, while the Dolphins are now 2-5 and 1-3 in the league.

The win for SNHU marked its first win at Le Moyne since the 1994 season.  The Penmen had been winless in their previous seven trips to Syracuse.

Doublette registered his second goal of the season, an unassisted tally, with 2:16 left to lift Southern New Hampshire to the victory.

Le Moyne had tied the game in the 74th minute when Casey Murphy scored when he put home a cross out of the air from Zachary MacNabb.  Less than a minute earlier, the Dolphins had gone a man down as a red card was issued.

Southern New Hampshire took a 1-0 lead at the 12:16 mark when Mohamed Toufik (Grande Synthe, France) headed home a cross from countrymate Jonathan Lupinelli (Mont de Marsan, France).

Dom DiMaggio (Rome, N.Y.) did not make a save en route to the win in goal for Southern New Hampshire, while Dolphin keeper Matthew Silva made nine saves.  The Penmen outshot Le Moyne 25-7 on the afternoon and generated a 10-1 advantage in corner kicks.

Southern New Hampshire returns to action Wednesday night when it hosts Saint Michael's College in a 7:00 contest at Larkin Field.
