Box Score MANCHESTER, N.H. - The Southern New Hampshire volleyball team defeated Saint Michael's College in non-conference play Tuesday night to extend its win streak to seven. The Penmen won by game scores of 26-16, 25-20, and 25-14. SNHU advances to 8-4 while the Purple Knights are now 7-3.
The Penmen have won the last seven out of nine matches while only losing four sets out of the 16 total matches. The volleyball program has not seen a seven game win streak since the 2009 season when the team started off 7-0.
Erica Solomon (Islip Terrace, N.Y.) led the Penmen on the night while notching 10 kills and a match-high 11 digs. Emma Houlihan (Shoreham, N.Y.) connected on 13 out of 19 hitting attempts to add a match-high 13 kills for a .632 hitting percentage on the night. Setter Catherine Cotton (Murphy, Texas) dished out 30 assists, while Kendra Mikuta (Orland Park, Ill.) tallied nine digs in the libero position for SNHU.
The Purple Knights were powered by Katie Walsh who contributed 10 kills and Jess McLeod who added 21 assists.
The Penmen return to action on Saturday, September 29 when they host Merrimack College for their Northeast-10 Conference debut at 12:00 p.m.
