Box Score

MANCHESTER, N.H. – No. 15 Southern New Hampshire University scored twice in each half to record a 4-1 non-conference men's soccer victory over Post University at Larkin Field Saturday night.  The Penmen, who have won four in a row, improved to 8-1, while the Eagles saw a seven-match win streak snapped (5-0-2) and are now 5-2-2 on the season.

The Penmen saw themselves down for just the second time all season 9:48 into the match as Raphael Moura scored on a long feed from Korab Muaremi to give the guests a 1-0 advantage.  Southern New Hampshire came up with the equalizer in the 31st minute when Chris Tsonis (Dartmouth, Mass.) put in a long free kick from Christian Rodriguez (Manchester, N.H.) for his sixth goal of the season.

Chris Pereira (Ludlow, Mass.) scored what became the eventual game-winner with 12 minutes left in the first half with a great individual effort, spinning around an Eagle defender and shooting to the far right post with a low liner.  SNHU took a 2-1 lead into halftime.

Yannick Kabala (Manchester, N.H.) scored his first goal of the season at the 68:52 mark when he collected a rebound off a Rodriguez attempt and knocked a ball in off the left post.  Austin Britt (Massena, N.Y.) closed out the scoring with 17 minutes remaining when he headed home a left-to-right cross by Jonathan Lupinelli (Mont de Marsan, France).

Mark Painchaud (Concord, N.H.) made his first start of the season in goal for Southern New Hampshire and turned aside three shots, while Eagle keeper Andre Lindsay made 10 saves.  The Penmen outshot Post 30-9 and generated a 9-1 corner kick advantage.

Southern New Hampshire returns to action Wednesday night when it travels to crosstown rival Saint Anselm College for a 7:30 contest under the lights at Grappone Stadium.
