Box Score WORCESTER, Mass. – Pierre Omanga (Paris, France) scored twice for the second straight game as No. 14 Southern New Hampshire University blanked Assumption College 5-0 in Northeast-10 men's soccer Saturday afternoon at Multi-Sport Stadium. The Penmen won their 12th match in a row to improve to 12-1 overall and 10-0 in the NE-10, while the Greyhounds are now 2-7-2 overall and 0-7-2 in league play.
Omanga scored his first goal of the game in the 35th minute to give SNHU a 1-0 lead. The Penmen carried the one-goal advantage into halftime before Kyle Logan (Shelburne, Vt.) doubled the lead at the 59:20 mark after he volleyed home a cross by Kenny Doublette (Greenwich, Conn.). 2:27 later, Omanga scored his second goal of the game and 12th of the season with a shot that deflected off a Greyhound defender.
Mohamed Toufik (Grande Synthe, France) made it 4-0 in the 69th minute, while Brad Campion (Bethlehem, N.Y.) scored at the 82:38 mark to close out the scoring.
Dom DiMaggio (Rome, N.Y.) played the first 72:06 in goal for Southern New Hampshire and made a pair of saves before Eddie Legg (Broadlands, Va.) played the final 17:54 to finish off the shutout and made two saves. Assumption keeper Dana King made eight saves as he went the distance in goal. The Penmen outshot the Greyhounds 22-12, while both teams had eight corner kicks.
Southern New Hampshire returns to action Tuesday, October 22, when it hosts Bentley University in a 7:00 contest at Larkin Field.
