Box Score NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. – The Southern New Hampshire University volleyball team was defeated by a score of 3-1 to Merrimack College in Northeast-10 play Saturday afternoon. The Penmen are now 8-7 overall and 3-2 in league play, while the Warriors are 8-10 and 3-2 in the conference.
After dropping the first set by a score of 25-21, SNHU squared up the match by taking the second set by a score of 25-20. However, Merrimack took the next two sets by scores of 25-16, and 25-21 to get the win.
Emma Houlihan (Shoreham, N.Y.) totaled a team-high 13 kills for the Penmen, along with four blocks defensively. Nina McGouldrick (Richardson, Texas) added nine kills and 11 digs, while Maeghan Higgins (Hesperia, Calif.) contributed 13 digs and two service aces. Catherine Cotton (Murphy, Texas) dished out 39 assists for the visitors.
The Penmen return to action Tuesday, October 22 when they travel to Bentley University for a 7:30 league match.
