Box Score MANCHESTER, N.H. – Four different players totaled double-digit kills for the Southern New Hampshire volleyball team in a 3-1 Northeast-10 Conference win over Saint Michael's College Saturday afternoon. The Penmen are now 6-5 overall and 1-0 in the league, while the Purple Knights are 7-3 overall and 0-1 in the conference.
The Penmen won the first two sets by scores of 25-12, and 25-13. After falling to the Purple Knights in the third set by a score of 25-19, SNHU completed the win with a fourth set victory by a score of 25-12.
Nina McGouldrick (Richardson, Texas) led the Penmen offense with 19 kills, including eight in the final set. Kendra Mikuta (Orland Park, Ill.) and Ashlee Daoust (Brookline, N.H.) each added 12 kills, and Emma Houlihan (Shoreham, N.Y.) totaled 10 kills on the day.
McGouldrick, Mikuta, and Daoust also played tough defense for the Penmen while totaling 12, 12, and 15 digs respectively.
Catherine Cotton (Murphy, Texas) and Maeghan Higgins (Hesperia, Calif.) each accomplished new personal career-bests, while Cotton handed out 53 assists, and Higgins totaled 27 digs defensively.
The Penmen return to action Tuesday, October 1 when they host Saint Anselm College for a 7:00 p.m. conference match at the SNHU Fieldhouse.
