MANCHESTER, N.H. – Southern New Hampshire University blanked Pace University 3-0 in Northeast-10 women's volleyball action Friday night at the SNHU Fieldhouse. The Penmen improved to 13-8 overall and 5-4 in the NE-10, giving them their most wins since 2006 when they went 13-12. The Setters dropped to 4-16 and 1-7 in the league.
The set scores were 25-18, 25-11, 25-17.
Freshman Marisa Coronis (Hudson, N.H.) led Southern New Hampshire in kills for the fourth straight game, recording 13 kills on .333 hitting on the evening. Classmate Carolyn Scacchi (Peabody, Mass.) also hit .333 and finished with nine kills, while Megan Salamun (Scottsdale, Ariz.) added nine kills on .389 hitting. Freshman Kathleen Schurman (Burnt Hills, N.Y.) added eight digs and seven kills.
Maeghan Higgins (Hesperia, Calif.) had a team-high 13 digs, while Nina McGouldrick (Richardson, Texas) added nine. Catherine Cotton (Murphy, Texas) handed out 33 assists as the Penmen hit .259 as a team. SNHU also registered 12 service aces, tied for its second-highest total of the season.
Macey Danker led Pace with six kills, as the Setters hit just .100 as a unit. Samantha Marquez tallied 11 digs, while Sara Anastasi handed out nine assists.
Southern New Hampshire returns to action Saturday when it hosts league-leading Adelphi University in a 1:00 match at the SNHU Fieldhouse.
