Box Score MANCHESTER, N.H. – Red-hot Adelphi University recorded a hard-fought 3-1 Northeast-10 women's volleyball victory over Southern New Hampshire University at the SNHU Fieldhouse Saturday afternoon. The Panthers, who won their 13th straight match, improved to 13-9 and 10-0 in NE-10 play, while the Penmen are now 13-9 and 5-5 in the league.
The set scores were 25-22, 20-25, 28-26, 25-17.
Adelphi was led by Kaitlyn DeStefano who recorded 16 kills on .682 hitting while also notching six blocks (four solo, two assists). Haley Blunt totaled 14 kills and three block assists, while Mandy Stanislovaitis added 12 kills. Sierra Crook notched 24 digs defensively, while Alayna Jackson handed out 37 assists.
Freshman Marisa Coronis (Hudson, N.H.) finished with a career-best 21 kills on .385 hitting for the contest, while Megan Salamun (Scottsdale, Ariz.) added 10 kills on .333 hitting. Maeghan Higgins (Hesperia, Calif.) notched 18 digs, while Catherine Cotton (Murphy, Texas) handed out 40 assists. Nina McGouldrick (Richardson, Texas) contributed seven digs and six kills.
Adelphi hit .331 as a team for the contest while recording 12 blocks and 11 service aces.
Southern New Hampshire returns to action Tuesday night when it hosts Assumption College in a 7:00 Northeast-10 contest at the SNHU Fieldhouse.
