Box Score SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Sophomore Megan Salamun (Scottsdale, Ariz.) tallied 16 kills to lead Southern New Hampshire University to a 3-2 Northeast-10 women's volleyball victory at Le Moyne College Saturday afternoon. The Penmen, who picked up their fifth victory in six outings, improve to 16-9 and 8-5 in the NE-10, while the Dolphins are now 9-11 and 6-5 in the league.
The set scores were 20-25, 25-19, 21-25, 25-13, 15-8.
With the win, the Penmen moved into sixth place in the Northeast-10 standings, and clinched a berth in the upcoming Northeast-10 Women's Volleyball Championship. It marks just the second berth in program history, and the first since 2003.
Salamun hit .481 on the afternoon and also added three blocks. Freshman Marisa Coronis (Hudson, N.H.) totaled 14 kills, while Nina McGouldrick (Richardson, Texas) added nine. Catherine Cotton (Murphy, Texas) notched her 11th double-double of the season with 48 assists and 13 digs, while Maeghan Higgins (Hesperia, Calif.) tallied 31 digs. Kendra Mikuta (Orland Park, Ill.) added 18 digs on the afternoon.
Le Moyne was led by Andrea Buchanan's 13 kills, while Megan Maisonet handed out 34 assists. Annie Stoklosa recorded 23 digs.
Southern New Hampshire closes out the regular season Saturday, November 8, when it hosts the University of New Haven for a 1:00 NE-10 match, followed by a 3:00 non-conference tilt against Dowling College.
