VIDEO HIGHLIGHTS

MANCHESTER, N.H. – Top-seeded Southern New Hampshire University got a goal from Orri Gustafsson (Akureyri, Iceland) with 10:44 remaining in regulation to top eighth-seeded American International College 1-0 in the quarterfinal round of the 2014 Northeast-10 Men's Soccer Championship Tuesday night at Larkin Field.  The Penmen, ranked No. 6 nationally, improve to 15-1-1 and will host fifth-seeded Merrimack College in Friday's semifinal round at 7:00.  The Yellow Jackets see their season come to a close at 9-9.

Southern New Hampshire, which has now won 23 straight at home dating back to last season, battled Merrimack to a 2-2 draw in North Andover, Mass. on October 8.

After nearly 80 minutes that saw the Penmen have the run of play, Gustafsson got the hosts on the board with just over 10 minutes remaining.  Jonathan Lupinelli (Mont de Marsan, France) played a long ball from the right side into the middle of the box, which Gustafsson was able to head inside the left post for his fourth goal of the season.

Southern New Hampshire held a commanding 31-2 shot advantage on the evening, with Yellow Jacket keeper Sebastian Tamayo keeping the guests in the game with nine saves.  SNHU counterpart Dom DiMaggio (Rome, N.Y.) made one save en route to his sixth shutout of the season.  The Penmen also took all 11 of the game's corner kicks.

The Penmen and Warriors will meet Friday in the NE-10 Championship for the third straight season.  The last two meetings came in the title game, as SNHU topped Merrimack 2-1 in North Andover in 2012 and 1-0 in Manchester last season.
