VIDEO HIGHLIGHTS

MANCHESTER, N.H. – A goal by junior Dominic Samuel (Toronto, Ontario) with just under eight minutes remaining snapped a 2-2 tie as the top-ranked Southern New Hampshire University men's soccer team pulled away for a 4-2 win over No. 25 Post University Wednesday night at Larkin Field.  The Penmen remain unbeaten at 2-0, while the Eagles fall to 1-1.

SNHU ran its unbeaten streak dating back to last season to 25 games, while the Penmen have now won 15 in a row at Larkin Field.

With just over eight minutes remaining, the Penmen were awarded a free kick just outside the top left corner of the 18.  Jonathan Lupinelli (Mont de Marsan, France) sent a high arcing ball to the far right post that Post keeper Serigne Baba Gaye stopped but could not control, and an opportunistic Samuel fired home the rebound for the eventual game-winner, his first goal of the season.

Ryan Reynolds (Springfield, Mass.) added an insurance goal with 30 seconds remaining after he took a pass through the box from Sofiane Tergou (Bitche, France) and slid it inside the near left post for his first collegiate goal.

Southern New Hampshire staked itself to a 1-0 lead 17:52 into the game on a scramble in front of the Eagle goal.  Sebastian Stezewski (New Britain, Conn.) played a ball to Kenny Doublette (Port-au-Prince, Haiti), who was able to get a shot through the scramble past Gaye for his first goal of the season.  The Eagles responded just under three minutes later when Gustavo Ferreira scored his second goal of the season, as his free kick bounded through the area untouched.

The Penmen took a 2-1 lead into halftime when Brian Grisell (Brookfield, Conn.) headed home a left-to-right crossing pass from Jose Seoane (A Coruna, Spain) 2:22 before intermission.  Post tied the game in the 77th minute when Souleymane Kone scored from 12 yards out after taking a pass from Francisco Sastre.

Dom DiMaggio (Rome, N.Y.) made one save for Southern New Hampshire, while Gaye made five saves for the Eagles as the Penmen outshot Post 25-8.  SNHU also had a 12-6 advantage in corner kicks on the evening.

Southern New Hampshire returns to action Saturday afternoon when it hosts Mercy College in a 4:00 non-conference contest at Larkin Field.
