Box Score 2 EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa. – Southern New Hampshire University won a pair of non-conference women's volleyball matches Saturday afternoon at the East Stroudsburg Invitational. The Penmen, who are now 6-4, downed Bloomfield 3-1 before edging the host Warriors 3-2 in the nightcap.
Against Bloomfield, SNHU won by scores of 22-25, 25-22, 25-13 and 25-20. The Penmen posted a 25-19, 14-25, 25-19, 24-26, 15-10 win over East Stroudsburg.
Kathleen Schurman (Burnt Hills, N.Y.) registered 18 kills against the Bears to lead Southern New Hampshire. Marisa Coronis (Hudson, N.H.) hit .300 and totaled 14 kills, while Megan Salamun (Scottsdale, Ariz.) tallied 13 kills on .385 hitting. Nina McGouldrick (Richardson, Texas) added nine kills and 10 digs. Maeghan Higgins (Hesperia, Calif.) racked up 32 digs, while Catherine Cotton (Murphy, Texas) handed out 46 assists.
In game two, Coronis led Southern New Hampshire with 13 kills, while Schurman added 11. Kendra Mikuta (Orland Park, Ill.) was one of five Penmen with double digit digs as she finished with 30, while Cotton handed out 41 assists and notched 15 digs.
Southern New Hampshire is idle until next Saturday, when it opens Northeast-10 play at Saint Michael's College in a 1:00 contest.
