Box Score MANCHESTER, N.H. – Southern New Hampshire University completed a season sweep of Saint Anselm College with a 3-1 Northeast-10 women's volleyball victory at Saint Anselm's Stoutenburgh Gymnasium Wednesday night. The Penmen won their fourth in a row to improve to 8-4 and 2-0 in the NE-10, while the Hawks are now 6-6 and 0-2 in the league.
The set scores were 26-24, 25-22, 23-25, 25-22.
With the win, the Penmen pick up a point in the recently-announced Queen City Cup, a competition between SNHU and Saint Anselm in 16 sports throughout the year. Southern New Hampshire, by virtue of its wins in volleyball, men's soccer and men's tennis, owns a 6-0 lead.
Junior Nina McGouldrick (Richardson, Texas) led the Penmen with 13 kills on .303 hitting while also registering 13 digs. Carolyn Scacchi (Peabody, Mass.) tallied eight kills, while Emma Houlihan (Shoreham, N.Y.) added seven. Catherine Cotton (Murphy, Texas) and Maeghan Higgins (Hesperia, Calif.) each totaled 20 digs, with Cotton handing out 37 assists.
Kathryn Teets led Saint Anselm with 18 kills, while Brennah Gladwill added 14.
Southern New Hampshire returns to action Saturday when it travels to Nyack College for a tri-match with the Warriors and Philadelphia University.
