Box Score 2 LAKEWOOD, N.J. – The Southern New Hampshire University women's volleyball split a pair of matches on Saturday at the Georgian Court Tournament. The Penmen downed Mercy College 3-0, before dropping a 3-0 decision to Caldwell University. The Penmen are now 2-1 on the season.
Set scores against Mercy were 25-22, 25-17, 25-11, while the Cougars prevailed by scores of 25-21, 25-19, 25-18.
Against Mercy, Carolyn Scacchi (Peabody, Mass.) and Megan Salamun (Scottsdale, Ariz.) led the Penmen with nine kills apiece, with Salamun hitting at a .667 clip. Nina McGouldrick (Richardson, Texas) added six kills, while Catherine Cotton (Murphy, Texas) handed out 26 assists. Maeghan Higgins (Hesperia, Calif.) had a team-high seven digs.
Marisa Coronis (Hudson, N.H.) had seven kills for Southern New Hampshire in the nightcap, while Scacchi and Emma Houlihan (Shoreham, N.Y.) each finished with six. Cotton recorded 18 assists, while Higgins notched 11 digs.
Southern New Hampshire returns to action Sunday, facing host Georgian Court at 10:00 am and Roberts Wesleyan at noon. The Penmen return home Tuesday night when they host Saint Anselm College in a 7:00 non-league match at the SNHU Fieldhouse.
