Box Score

SYRACUSE, N.Y. - Senior Elijah Bonsignore (Felton, Del.) finished with 27 points to lead Southern New Hampshire University to a 63-52 Northeast-10 men's basketball win over Le Moyne College Saturday afternoon at Ted Grant Court.  The Penmen upped their win streak to five as they now stand at 12-5 overall and 10-3 in the NE-10, while the Dolphins dropped their third straight and are now 12-7 and 6-6 in the league.

Bonsignore, who posted his fourth 20-point game of the season, finished 10-12 from the floor (7-7 2PT, 3-5 3PT) while also grabbing eight rebounds.  The 6-6 senior is shooting 69.8% from the floor during the current five-game win streak, including 84% (37-44) inside the arc.

Rodney Sanders (Linden, N.J.) finished 5-8 from the floor and recorded 14 points, five rebounds, and five assists, while Devin Gilligan (Amherst, N.H.), making his second start of the season, added 10 points.

Qwadere Lovell led all scorers with 30 points for Le Moyne.

Southern New Hampshire led 35-25 at halftime and held a 46-30 lead five minutes into the second half following back-to-back three-pointers by Sanders and Bonsignore.  A Bonsignore basket with 11:35 left gave SNHU a 50-37 lead, but Le Moyne held the Penmen scoreless for the next six minutes and scored 10 straight points to pull within three, 50-47.

The Penmen were clinging to a 52-49 lead when Bonsignore knocked down a fadeaway three with 2:24 left to double the SNHU lead.  From there, Le Moyne was held without a field goal and the guests sealed the victory by going 8-10 at the free-throw line in the final minute.

Le Moyne led just once, at 2-0, as the Penmen built a 12-2 lead six minutes into the game.  Southern New Hampshire took its largest lead, 31-13, with just under four minutes left on a Bonsignore dunk, before the Dolphins closed the half on a 12-4 run to pull within 10, 35-25, at the break.

SNHU shot a sizzling 70% in the first half and 52.4% for the game while limiting the Dolphins to 35.3% shooting for the contest.  The Penmen knocked down nine of their 21 three-point attempts and held a 34-25 rebounding advantage for the game.

Southern New Hampshire returns to action Tuesday night when it travels to the University of New Haven for a 5:30 Northeast-10 contest at Charger Gymnasium.
