A pair of second half goals propelled the fourth-ranked Southern New Hampshire men's soccer team to a 2-0 win over Le Moyne Saturday as it improved to 9-0.
Rayane Boukemia (Strasbourg, France) got the Penmen on the board just past the game's 60-minute mark. After taking a pass from Jonathan Lupinelli (Mont de Marsan, France), Boukemia took a touch, spun, and lifted a shot to the upper left corner that crossed the goal line, hit a net support and bounced out. The officials initially ruled no goal, but after conferring, Boukemia was awarded his second goal of the season.
Sofiane Tergou (Bitche, France) made it 2-0 in the 77th minute with his third goal of the season. He took a long pass from Sebastian Stezewski (New Britain, Conn.) and rocketed a ball off the left post that ricocheted in.
Nick Zucco (Ludlow, Mass.) made one save en route to his sixth shutout of the season, while Le Moyne's Ben Beaury notched four saves.
Notes:
- Southern New Hampshire outshot Le Moyne 14-3 and took 11 corner kicks while the Dolphins took three.
- The Penmen entered the game fourth nationally in team goals-against average. SNHU has allowed three goals in nine games.
- SNHU is unbeaten in its last 33 games at Larkin Field (32-0-1).
- Southern New Hampshire has started 9-0 in each of the past two seasons.
What's Next:
Southern New Hampshire is idle until next Saturday when it travels to the University of New Haven for a 1:00 Northeast-10 contest.
