The Southern New Hampshire University volleyball team split a pair of matches at the Kutztown Invitational Saturday, downing the host Bears 3-0 before falling to NYIT 3-0 in the nightcap.
Victoria Wehrmann (Richardson, Texas) had a match-high 14 kills in the opener, while Marisa Coronis (Hudson, N.H.) added 11. Catherine Cotton (Murphy, Texas) handed out 37 assists, while Nina McGouldrick (Richardson, Texas) and Maeghan Higgins (Hesperia, Calif.) notched 12 digs apiece as the Penmen won their fourth straight.
Against NYIT, Coronis led the Penmen with nine kills. Higgins finished with 15 digs, while Cotton and Kathleen Schurman (Burnt Hills, N.Y.) added 11 and 10, respectively. Cotton also handed out 25 assists.
Notes:
- SNHU jumped out to an 11-3 lead in the opener against Kutztown.
- Cotton, SNHU's all-time leader in assists, is 64 away from 3,000 for her career.
- The Penmen finished 2-1 at the Kutztown Invitational.
What's Next:
Southern New Hampshire travels to Waterbury, Conn. on Tuesday night to face Post University in a 6:00 contest.
