Senior Catherine Cotton (Murphy, Texas) registered her 3,000th career assist as the Southern New Hampshire women's volleyball team blanked Saint Michael's College in its Northeast-10 Conference opener.
Cotton, SNHU's all-time assist leader, needed 22 assists coming into the match and registered 39 in the three-set affair. She now has 3,017 career assists. Cotton also added seven digs and five kills.
Marisa Coronis (Hudson, N.H.) led three players in double-digit kills for SNHU with 13 on .440 hitting. Holly Adams (Hopkinton, Mass.) notched a double-double with 12 kills and 11 digs, while Carolyn Scacchi (Peabody, Mass.) added 10 kills. Maeghan Higgins (Hesperia, Calif.) led the Penmen defensively with 16 digs.
Notes:
- SNHU hit .342 as a team, its second highest single-game hitting percentage of the season.
- The Penmen snapped a five-game win streak for the Purple Knights.
- Adams' 12 kills were a season high.
