Senior Megan Salamun (Scottsdale, Ariz.) registered a team-best six kills as the Southern New Hampshire University women's volleyball team wrapped up its season with a 3-0 (25-21, 25-21, 25-14) Senior Day loss to Adelphi University on Saturday afternoon at the SNHU Fieldhouse.

In the opening set, Southern New Hampshire held a 19-17 advantage when Adelphi reeled off five straight points to jump into the lead at 22-19. A pair of Panther attack errors pulled the Penmen within one, but Adelphi responded with three straight kills to take the set.

Kills from Salamun and fellow senior Victoria Wehrmann (Dallas, Texas) helped SNHU take a 5-2 lead out of the gate in set No. 2, but Adelphi used a 13-1 rush to open a 15-6 lead. The Penmen countered with a 5-2 spurt that featured a pair of kills from freshman Joanne Coffey (Merrimack, N.H.) and made it 17-11. With the gap at eight later in the set, Southern New Hampshire trimmed its deficit to 24-21 with a 7-2 run that was highlighted by two kills from junior Lauren Irvine (Franklin, Mass.), but the Panthers would pick up the kill they were in search off to halt the three-point run and take a 2-0 lead in the match.

After Southern New Hampshire built a 9-5 lead in the third set, Adelphi tipped off a 12-1 landslide that gave it a 17-10 advantage. The margin was later eight at 22-14 when three straight Panther points ended the match.

Salamun added four digs to her six kills, while Wehrmann posted four kills and four digs. Freshman Amanda Costales (Wantagh, N.Y.) also contributed four kills, with junior Marisa Coronis (Hudson, N.H.) tallying three kills and eight digs. Coffey registered 16 assists and six digs. Junior Kathleen Schurman (Burnt Hills, N.Y.) and sophomore Shaira Sanabria (Tampa, Fla.) each collected nine and seven digs, respectively.
