NORTHEAST-10 RELEASE
MANSFIELD, Mass. – Sophomore Ricardo Marreiros (Portimao, Portugal) of the Southern New Hampshire University men's tennis team was chosen as both the Northeast-10 Player and Rookie of the Week for the period ending March 27, the league office announced Monday afternoon.
Marreiros won a pair of matches in a 9-0 win against Adelphi University on Saturday. Marreiros earned a 6-3, 6-2 victory at No. 1 singles against Uladzislau Litvinchuk and teamed with classmate Xavier Aubron (Herouville, France) for an 8-1 triumph against Roey Heymann and Sebastian Zapata at No. 2 doubles.
Marreiros, who is 7-7 overall this season, including 4-3 in singles play, is ranked as the 10th best singles player in the East Region, while he and Aubron and slotted No. 8 in doubles.
Marreiros and the Penmen are back in action Wednesday, March 30 (3 p.m.) when they take on Bentley University. The next home match is Wednesday, April 6 when the Penmen play host to Franklin Pierce University.
