SNHU Reaches Agreement with FOX College Sports to Air 16 Games in 2017-18

FOX COLLEGE SPORTS CHANNEL FINDER

MANCHESTER, N.H. – The Southern New Hampshire University Department of Athletics has struck a deal with FOX College Sports to carry 16 Penmen games during the 2017-18 season. One women's and men's soccer match, 10 total basketball games and two softball and baseball tilts dot the schedule. The broadcasts will be produced by Pack Network.

"SNHU Athletics is extremely excited to have formed this relationship with FOX College Sports," said Southern New Hampshire Associate Director of Athletics, Tom Wilkins. "We have seen great benefit televising Penmen athletic contests the last four years and are thrilled to now be able to feature our top-notch programs to a national audience on a tremendous platform in FOX College Sports.  It is also satisfying to continue rewarding the support of the SNHU fans, alumni and members of the Penmen family across the country with more opportunities to see Penmen Athletics."

SNHU's FOX College Sports schedule will begin Tuesday, Oct. 17 when women's soccer takes on Assumption College at 7 p.m. Men's soccer against Bentley will be broadcast the following night at 7 p.m. The winter slate kicks off Saturday, Dec. 2 with a basketball doubleheader against Assumption College that begins at 1:30 p.m. The spring schedule gets going Saturday, April 21 when softball hosts Merrimack College in a noon doubleheader, with the first of two baseball tilts following Wednesday, April 25 at 6 p.m. against Franklin Pierce University. 

Dan Hannigan and Jacob VanRyn will share play-by-play and color commentary duties, after working together on Penmen basketball broadcasts for the last four seasons. Hannigan has 20 years of experience as the University of Maine men's ice hockey radio voice. Hannigan has earned Maine Sportscaster of the Year honors on multiple occasions and was at the microphone for Maine's 1999 national championship win as he called the game-winning goal for Maine radio. VanRyn, meanwhile, is a seasoned New England broadcast professional and will lend insight into the Northeast-10 during broadcast as he currently serves as the league's Associate Commissioner for Strategic Communications. VanRyn owns nearly 20 years of broadcasting experience, calling numerous NCAA Division II men's basketball regionals, as well as the 2015 Elite Eight, and is also the play-by-play voice of Bentley University football.
