Senior Eamonn Joyce (Medford, Mass.) posted career highs in points and rebounds to lead the Southern New Hampshire University men's basketball team past American International College, 88-81, Wednesday night at the Stan Spirou Field House.

KEY MOMENTS
  • Southern New Hampshire trailed, 60-58, with less than nine minutes to play, when a three-point play from Buscetto sparked a 15-4 blitz - with seven points from Joyce and five from Long - that gave the Penmen their largest lead of the night at 73-64 with just under five minutes to go.
  • AIC would get to within a pair with less than three minutes remaining, but a 6-0 burst put the game out of reach, as SNHU went 11-for-12 at the stripe down the stretch to seal it.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
  • Branislav Terzic led AIC with 22 points (6-10 FG, 2-4 3-FG, 8-8 FT).
  • The Penmen outshot the Yellow Jackets, 46.2 percent (24-52) to 44.3 percent (27-61), including 39.1 percent (9-23) to 38.1 percent (8-21) from beyond the arc.
  • SNHU also feasted at the line, going plus-12, despite AIC shooting it better, 95 percent (19-20) to 73.8 percent (31-42).
  • The Penmen collected more points off turnovers (17-11) and on the fast break (18-13), in addition to featuring a better assist-to-turnover ratio (13/11-9/14), while the Yellow Jackets won the glass (36-34) and the paint (30-24), and received more scoring from their bench (24-5).
NOTES
  • Southern New Hampshire snaps a four-game losing skid, while the Yellow Jackets lost for the 10th time in their last 12 contests.
  • SNHU, which leads the all-time series, 28-19, has won four of the last six meetings against the Yellow Jackets, but snaps a two-game losing streak with the win. 
  • The 34 points for Joyce were the most by a Penmen since Nov. 25 of last season when Daquaise Andrews erupted for 37 in a 99-91 win over Post University.
  • Joyce reaches the 20-point plateau for the seventh time this season and the 17th time in his career.
  • Joyce's double-double is his fourth of the season and the ninth of his career.

  • The Penmen are back in action Saturday, Jan. 25 (1:30 p.m.) when they take on the College of Saint Rose.
  • The next home game for SNHU is Tuesday, Jan. 28 (7:30 p.m.) when it plays host to the University of New Haven at the Stan Spirou Field House.
