Senior Shawn Montague (Yorktown Heights, N.Y.) recorded a double-double and classmate Eamonn Joyce (Medford, Mass.) notched the 1,000th point of his career, but the Southern New Hampshire University men's basketball team dropped an 88-83 decision to in-state rival Franklin Pierce University on Tuesday night at the FPU Fieldhouse.

KEY MOMENTS
- Southern New Hampshire trailed, 47-37, at the break, but opened the second half on a 19-6 run - led by eight points from Long - to grab a 56-53 advantage with 13:34 remaining.
- Franklin Pierce led, 64-63, with less than eight minutes to go when it reeled off 12 of the next 15 points to open up a 76-66 margin with 3:32 left. Isaiah Moore paced the run with five points, while Jameson Pierrelus added four.
- SNHU would get to within four with 18 seconds left, but a pair of free throws sealed it for FPU.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Moore led six Ravens in double figures with 18 points (8-12 FG, 2-5 3-FG).
- The Ravens outshot the Penmen, 52.3 percent (34-65) to 47.8 percent (33-69), while SNHU narrowly returned the favor from deep, 39.1 percent (9-23) to 38.5 percent (10-26).
- Franklin Pierce also narrowly shot it better from the line, 68.8 percent (11-16) to 66.7 percent (8-12).
- The Penmen captured the paint (42-38) and gathered more second chance points (10-5), while the Ravens won the glass (38-34), collected more points off turnovers (14-11) and on the fast break (19-15), received more scoring from their bench (30-7) and recorded a more impressive assist-to-turnover ratio (21/12-11/13).
NOTES
- Southern New Hampshire has its four-game winning streak snapped, while FPU wins for the third time in the last seven games and halts a two-game skid.
- After winning eight of nine and six straight, SNHU, which leads the all-time series with Franklin Pierce, 70-29, has now dropped three-in-a-row to the Ravens.
- Franklin Pierce captures the regular-season series with the Penmen for the first time since 2013-14.
- Joyce becomes the 51st Penmen to score their 1,000th career point in an SNHU uniform and the first since Daquaise Andrews on Feb. 3, 2018.
- Montague's double-double is his seventh of the season and the 17th of his Penmen career.
- Montague also reaches the 20-point plateau for the eighth time this season and 10th time in an SNHU uniform.
