Junior Jordan Butters (Beverly, Mass.) tallied a pair of goals Saturday night, including the eventual game winner in the 83rd minute, as the 14th-ranked Southern New Hampshire University women's soccer team scored a 2-1 victory against Pace University at Pace Stadium.

KEY MOMENTS
  • After Pace went to the break with a 1-0 lead following a 22nd-minute goal from Allison Carr, SNHU tied it midway through the 56th minute when Butters gathered a pass from Baum, dribbled to the top of the box and struck a blast that found the back of the net.
  • Butters then gave SNHU the lead with 7:34 left in regulation when she converted a penalty kick to make it 2-1.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
  • Senior goalkeeper Hannah Rose (Waterloo, Ontario) made one save.
  • Perri Anderson stopped both shots she faced for Pace in the first half, while Annabella Cole turned away one of the three that came her way in the second stanza.
  • Shots were even at 8-all, while SNHU owned a 5-2 advantage in shots on goal.
  • SNHU also held a 3-2 edge in corner kicks.
NOTES
  • Southern New Hampshire, which is ranked 14th in the latest United Soccer Coaches Division II National Top 25 Poll, begins the season 9-0 for the first time since the 1984 campaign.
  • SNHU leads the all-time series with Pace, 14-5-2, and has now won four straight against the Setters.
  • Butters now leads the team in points (12) and goals (5), while ranking second in assists (2).
  • The assist for Baum marked her first point in a Penmen uniform.
