Jacob Logan Finishes 18th as SNHU Competes At NE10 Championships

Penmen Run Seventh On Sunday

Distance:  Men's race, 8K
Results: Southern New Hampshire University – 7th of 14 (215)

SNHU senior Jacob Logan (Norwood, Mass.) finished in 18th place and the Penmen finished seventh at Sunday's NE10 Championships at Saint Anselm College.

STANDOUT PERFORMERS
  • Logan's time for the 8k was 26:50, good for 18th place in a field of 149.   The finish earned him third-team All-Conference recognition.
  • Senior Luke Hogan (Litchfield, N.H.) finished up in 28:18.6, which was a PR and good for a 48th place finish.  
  • The other scorers for SNHU on Sunday were junior J T Gulick (Norwalk, Conn.), sophomore Kody Gagnon (Tolland, Conn.), and senior Andrew Derry (Keene, N.H.).
NOTES
  • Gulick ran 57th in 28:32.3, Gagnon wound up in 59th at 28:37.0, and Derry was 61st at 28:45.7.
  • In addition to Hogan, Gagnon and junior Liam Walker (Attleboro, Mass.) also ran personal best races.  Walker finished in 28:47.6 and finished 64th.
  • Sophomore Carson Bottomley (Hollis, N.H.) also competed for the Penmen, finishing 125th.
  • Logan improved his performance over three tries at the NE10 Championships from 73rd place (2017) to 44th place (2019) to 18th place (2021).
  • American International University won its second straight team title over Southern Connecticut State.  The Yellow Jackets were anchored by a 1-2 finish from Ezra Mutai and Callum Elson.  
  • The Penmen finished seventh overall, and ahead of host Saint Anselm College (11th place) to earn two Queen City Cup points.

  • The Penmen will race at the NCAA East Regional Championships on Saturday Nov. 6 in Rochester, N.Y.
