Women's Tennis Sets Down Saint Anselm, 7-0

Senior Alexxa Etienne (Bayamon, Puerto Rico) won both of her matches and clinched the victory with her win at No. 3 singles, as the Southern New Hampshire University women's tennis team rolled to another 7-0 triumph, defeating Saint Anselm College on Wednesday evening under the lights at the Penmen Stadium Tennis Courts.

STANDOUT PERFORMERS
  • Etienne took care of Olivia Parzick, 6-1, 6-0, at No. 3 singles to hand the Penmen the win. She also teamed up with graduate student Natalie Kallmunzerova (Prague, Czech Republic) for a 6-2 defeat of Anastasia Kapothanasis and Julia Svor at No. 1 doubles to clinch the point.
  • Kallmunzerova made quick work of Kapothanasis, 6-0, 6-1, at No. 1 singles.
  • Junior Magdalena Hubickova (Prague, Czech Republic) blanked Emily Jacy, 6-0, 6-0, at No. 2 singles and combined with senior Elizabeth Dwyer (Cutchogue, N.Y.) to take down Jacy and Parzick, 6-1, at No. 3 doubles.
  • Junior Isabella Andrade (Cochabamba, Bolivia) swept past Svor, 6-0, 6-0, at No. 4 singles.
  • Sophomore Guntra Upeniece (Riga, Latvia) was a 6-2, 6-4 winner over Elle Doucette at No. 5 singles.
  • Junior Mina Houge (Oslo, Norway) came away with a 6-2, 6-2 victory against Julia Casaletto at No. 6 singles.
NOTES
  • Southern New Hampshire's 8-1 start matches its record to begin the 2019-20 campaign. 
  • SNHU now has four 7-0 victories in its last six matches and has dropped just one point in the last four outings.
  • The Penmen lead the all-time series with Saint Anselm, 20-5, and have now won 20-in-a-row versus the Hawks.
  • Kallmunzerova is 15-0 in singles play to begin the season.
  • Hubickova betters her career NE10 singles mark to 23-4.
