Graduate student Kate Pigsley (East Kingston, N.H.) made three saves Saturday night, but the Southern New Hampshire University field hockey team dropped a 2-0 decision to the University of New Haven at DellaCamera Stadium.

KEY MOMENTS
  • Reilly Bialko opened the scoring for New Haven just 4:41 in off an assist from Abby Nixon.
  • Nixon then doubled the Charger lead just 7:40 before halftime with a goal of her own off a rebound in front.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
  • New Haven 'keeper Keira Integlia stopped all four shots she faced.
  • Shots were even at 16-all, with the Chargers holding a slight 5-4 edge in shots on target.
  • The Penmen owned a 10-6 advantage in penalty corners.
NOTES
  • This is New Haven's first win ever against SNHU, which had entered the contest 3-0 against the Chargers and had outscored them, 20-1.
  • SNHU's Pigsley has been in goal in each of the nine games for the Penmen. Her goals against average dipped again to 3.56.
WHAT'S NEXT
  • The Penmen return to action on Tuesday, Oct. 12 (3 p.m.) when they take on Saint Michael's College.
  • The next home game for SNHU will be on Saturday, Oct. 16 at noon against Southern Connecticut State University.
