Ramona Fontaine (Chelsea, Mass.) each recorded 10 kills, but the seventh-seeded Southern New Hampshire University women's volleyball team saw its season come to an end Tuesday evening with a 3-1 loss to the second-seeded University of New Haven in an NE10 Championship quarterfinal match at Charger Gymnasium. Set scores were 25-20, 25-17, 21-25, 25-15.

KEY MOMENTS
- Southern New Hampshire trailed by just one in the opening set when a 7-2 run from New Haven – with two kills each from Jessica Akiona and Macy Brown – gave it a 24-18 advantage.
- Three kills and an ace from Brown powered a 14-5 run in the second stanza, with New Haven eventually taking an 18-10 lead.
- With the third set tied, 5-5, SNHU ripped off eight of the next nine points to open up a 13-6 cushion. Di Valerio had three kills during the stretch. The Penmen used a 7-3 run later in the set – with two more Di Valerio kills – to widen the gap to 21-13.
- SNHU was within 13-10 in the fourth frame when a 12-5 rush – featuring four Emily Barry kills – put the match away.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- New Haven outhit SNHU in all three sets it won, including .288-.162 for the match.
- The Chargers doubled up the visitors in blocks (10-5), while the Penmen held a 5-4 edge in aces.
NOTES
- Southern New Hampshire finishes above .500 for the second straight season.
- SNHU, playing in its first NE10 Championship since 2018, falls to 0-5 all-time in the NE10 postseason.
- New Haven has now won seven-in-a-row against the Penmen.
