Karen Pinkos cement her 200th career victory, as the Southern New Hampshire University women's basketball team breezed past American International College, 82-55, Sunday afternoon at the Stan Spirou Field House.

KEY MOMENTS
- Southern New Hampshire began the game with a 21-5 stretch over the opening 6:52, with Timberlake leading the way with eight points, while Knollmeyer and Russell each added four. The lead was 24-9 at the end of one quarter and American Int'l would trim its deficit to 12 at 39-27 going into the halftime break.
- After AIC closed to within eight less than a minute into the second half, SNHU responded with a 15-2 burst – led by seven points from Knollmeyer and six from Ziliak – to open up a 54-33 advantage with 5:05 to go in the third. Five points from Timberlake later in the stanza powered a 9-0 run that widened the gap to 65-38 with 34 seconds on the clock.
- The Penmen then began the final frame with an 8-2 flurry – highlighted by a 3-pointer from senior Samantha Chapps (Old Saybrook. Conn.) – to seize a 73-42 lead just over three minutes in. A jumper from sophomore Julia Colby (So. Parris, Maine) with 1:07 remaining capped a 6-0 spurt that handed SNHU its largest lead of the afternoon at 82-50.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- senior Jenna Roche (Braintree, Mass.) tallied seven points (2-7 FG, 1-2 3-FG, 2-4 FT), seven rebounds and four assists.
- Colby registered six points (3-6 FG), three assists and two rebounds.
- Sophomore Jessica Knight (Hanover, Mass.) posted four points (1-2 FG, 2-2 FT) and six boards.
- SNHU outshot AIC, 48.4 percent (30-62) to 30 percent (18-60) from the field, including 35.3 percent (6-17) to 26.7 percent (4-15) from long range.
- American Int'l shot it better from the line, 88.2 percent (15-17) to 69.6 percent (16-23).
- The Penmen dominated the glass (50-26), captured the paint (38-24), featured a better assist-to-turnover ratio (21/16-6/13), and scored more second chance points (9-3) and slightly more on the fast break (11-10). The Yellow Jackets narrowly received more bench scoring (23-21).
NOTES
- Southern New Hampshire, which has now won three-in-a-row, is off to its best start since the 2018-19 season.
- Pinkos, the ninth head coach in program history, is the first to reach the 200-win plateau.
- American Int'l still leads the all-time series with Southern New Hampshire, 25-15, but SNHU has won six of the last seven meetings, including four straight. The Penmen have also won four-in-a-row at home against AIC, which has not won a game at SNHU since Jan. 10, 2016 (74-48).
- Knollmeyer, who leads the league with 15.5 rebounds per game, is averaging 20.7 over her last three games.
- Russell is the only Penmen to have scored in double figures in all six games this season.
