Freshman Annemartine Christis ('S-Hertogenbosch, Netherlands) and junior Sofie Wolters (Schilde, Belgium) both scored for the second straight game, but the Southern New Hampshire University field hockey team fell to Bentley University, 4-2, Wednesday evening in the NE10 Conference opener at the Bentley Field Hockey Field.

KEY MOMENTS
  • Trailing, 3-0, past the midway point of the second quarter, Christis used a reverse stick from distance to put the Penmen on the board off an assist from Campbell at the 23:39 mark.
  • SNHU trimmed its deficit to one with 3:49 left in the third quarter when Wolters buried a penalty stroke to make it 3-2.
  • Bentley would add an insurance tally with 6:52 to play when Christine Murray batted home a centering pass from Kate Slowe that gave Bentley a two-goal cushion.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
  • Bentley goalkeeper Mia Trottie stopped three of the five shots she faced.
  • Bentley owned a 27-8 shot advantage, including 18-5 in shots on goal.
  • The Falcons also drew more penalty corners than the Penmen (12-4).
NOTES
  • Bentley now leads the all-time series with SNHU, 7-4, while the loss snaps a three-game winning streak for the Penmen against the Falcons.
  • Christis and Wolters both scored their first career goals last time out against Saint Michael's College on Sept. 8.

  • Southern New Hampshire is back in action Saturday, Sept. 18 (1 p.m.) when it takes on Pace University.
  • The Penmen are back home Friday, Sept. 24 (4:30 p.m.) when they play host to Adelphi University in a make-up of the postponed contest from Sept. 12 at Larkin Field.
