Graduate student Natalie Kallmunzerova (Prague, Czech Republic) remained perfect on the year with a No. 1 singles victory, but the Southern New Hampshire University women's tennis team faltered for the first time all season with a 5-2 loss to Le Moyne College on Monday afternoon at Nottingham High School.
STANDOUT PERFORMERS
- Kallmunzerova tied the match, 1-1, with a 6-2, 6-2 triumph at No. 1 singles over Isabella Barona.
- Le Moyne had already clinched the match and was up 5-1 when junior Isabella Andrade (Cochabamba, Bolivia) pulled out a 4-6, 6-3, 7-5 victory against Fiona Pepper at No. 4 singles.
NOTES
- The win snaps Southern New Hampshire's four-match winning streak to begin the year.
- The Penmen still lead the all-time series with Le Moyne, 11-10, but have lost four of the last five meetings.
- Kallmunzerova is 11-0 in singles play to begin the season.
- Hubickova drops her career NE10 singles mark to 19-4 and sees her seven-match winning streak against NE10 foes halted.
- Andrade improves to 11-3 all-time against NE10 singles opponents.
