Junior Sofie Wolters (Schilde, Belgium) and freshman Annemartine Christis ('S-Hertogenbosch, Netherlands) each scored the first goals of their careers for No. 9 Southern New Hampshire University in Wednesday's 5-2 loss to Saint Michael's College at Larkin Field.  

KEY MOMENTS
  • Saint Michael's scored the first four goals of the game before SNHU scored on a Walters goal midway through the third quarter.
  • Christis scored for the Penmen midway through the final period.  Senior Emily Campbell (Raynham, Mass.) assisted on both goals.
  • Senior Jenna Puleo finished with seven points on two goals and three assists to lead the Purple Knights.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
  • Graduate student Kate Pigsley (E. Kingston, N.H.) made twelve saves for the Penmen in her second career start, while Riley O'Connor turned aside 14 of the sixteen shots for Saint Michael's.  
  • The Penmen had a 23-19 shot advantage in the game, although Saint Michael's had a 13-5 advantage in the second half.
  • The Penmen also owned a slight 10-8 edge in penalty corners.
NOTES
  • SNHU is ranked No. 9 in the Penn Monto/NFHCA Division II National Coaches Poll.
  • The Penmen had won the last six games between the schools dating back to October 13, 2015.
  • This contest did not count in the NE10 standings.  The teams will meet in a conference tilt in Colchester, Vt. on October 12th.
