MANSFIELD, Mass. – Sophomore Matt Becht  (Vienna, Va.) of the Southern New Hampshire University men's basketball team earned NE10 Rookie of the Week honors for the period ending Jan. 23, the league office announced Monday afternoon.  

Becht, in his first year with the SNHU program, led the Penmen in scoring in a pair of wins last week against AIC and Saint Rose. He scored 17 against the Yellow Jackets, including 5-of-11 from three point range. Becht tallied 21 against the Golden Knights, adding three more three-point field goals. He also racked up 6.0 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 3.0 steals per game. 

SNHU returns to action on Sat. January 29 with a road contest at Pace University.  The Penmen will host Southern Connecticut State at the Stan Spirou Field House on Mon., January 31, at 7:30 p.m., as part of a Northeast-10 doubleheader with the SNHU women.
